Financial Freedom

A Timeframe For Wealth Creation

Most people think they’ve got plenty of time to create wealth.

They haven’t. Let me show you why.

What Happened To That Life?

Think back to when you were a kid. Every day was an adventure. You were learning all the time and chasing new experiences. As long as the adults knew where you were, you were free to do what you liked.

So what happened? Where did that kid go?

Like a seed, you’ve still got every bit of potential you need to grow into what you truly want. But a seed needs the right soil. Put yourself in a fertile environment — the right room — and you start pulling in everything you need for the journey.

And you know it’s possible, because thousands of people have already done it and are living lives of choice and financial freedom.

Do The Maths

Most people already feel it in their gut: the money needs sorting, and the clock’s ticking. Here’s what that looks like in real numbers.

Say you’re 40, and you want to stop working at 60. Twenty years. That’s 1,040 weeks. Sounds like heaps.

  • Take out a third for sleep. Unless you can make money in your sleep, you’re down to about 690 weeks.
  • Take out the job — forty hours a week, forty-eight weeks a year. You’re down to about 460 weeks.
  • Take out getting ready, the commute, meals and the jobs around the house. About 330 weeks.
  • Take out weekends and holidays with the family — which you should never give up. You’re left with somewhere between 130 and 160 weeks.

That’s roughly two and a half to three years of genuinely free time to change your financial future. Not twenty.

And that time is usually jammed between getting up, getting to work, and recovering from work.

No Mystery — Just Action

Ask yourself if you’re using that time well — learning, reading, turning up to the calls, getting around people who know more than you. If you’re not, you’re spending the most valuable time you’ve got going nowhere.

There’s no mystery to struggling with money. And there’s no mystery to wasting time. Both have the same fix: start now.

Your Move

Work out how many hours you have in an average week once sleep, work, meals and family commitments are taken out. Now count how many of those hours are going towards the outcomes you actually want. Is there room to improve?
