Same Trade, Different Life: Three Men, One Room

Let me tell you about three men. Every one of them walked in wearing a different belt — and every one of them still had a fair way to climb.

I’ll say this up front. None of them did it overnight. They all started exactly where you’d be starting. The difference is they kept turning up.

Adam Carberry at home on the couch with his young son.
The Mornings. That’s What He Talks About.

Adam

Adam was thirty-nine. Builder, plumber, refrigeration mechanic, working EBA union sites.

Out the door before sunrise. Sit in traffic. Work all day. Sit in traffic again. And miss the moments with his son that he’d never get back.

He was angry. Frustrated. Exhausted.

Most nights ended with half a carton and a packet of smokes.

Physically, skinny fat. Tired all the time, body aching, and when he started with us he couldn’t run one kilometre without gasping for air.

Under twelve months, Adam restructured the whole thing.

He went out on his own as a plumbing contractor. Got control of his time back.

And now his mornings look like breakfast and cartoons with his son.

More time with his wife. More time with his family. And he runs five kilometres.

The money came back. But that’s not what he talks about. He talks about the mornings.

Same Trade. Different Life.

Maddy And Me At The Lagoon.

Maddy

Maddy was forty-nine. Builder, out of the South Burnett.

Overweight, out of shape, and extremely reactive.

He kept saying yes to jobs he didn’t want. Put himself last, every time. And the people closest to him copped the spray of all that frustration.

Over twelve months, Maddy rebuilt the lot. His business. His body. His home life.

He started saying no to most jobs. Built a prequalification funnel so the wrong work never reached him. And started his first property development.

He dropped twenty-five kilos. Became a serious investor.

But the thing he’d tell you about is the holidays with his wife. Time with his kids. And moments with his young grandkids that he was never present for before.

Same Builder. Different Man.

Camo. Same Bloke, Same Job, Same Hours.

Camo

Camo ran the dog squad at a maximum-security prison.

Zero sales experience. Zero business experience.

Six months in, he did his first twenty-thousand-dollar month through an additional income stream.

He’s since become an investor in precious metals and crypto, and completely changed the way he thinks about money, opportunity, and what’s actually available to him.

Nothing about Camo’s circumstances changed. Same bloke. Same job. Same hours.

What changed was what he understood.

Same Man. Different Mindset.

Three Men. Three Starting Points. One Room.

None of them are special cases. They’re blokes who hit their point of enough’s enough, put the white belt on and kept turning up.

Their results are their own. Yours will depend on you.
